This blog was started by Steve Vargo, OD, MBA. I practice optometry in the Chicago area. I am also a frequent contributor to Review of Optometric Business, founder of iMobile Communications which works with small businesses to create and manage a digital marketing strategy, and a consultant to Global EyeVentures – developer of the EyeXam app.
New Media OD is dedicated to informing ODs on new and innovative ways to leverage technology and the “new media” for the purpose of promoting your practice and allowing it to run more efficiently. I’m very grateful to the dozens of interesting and innovative people I’ve met since starting this blog, many who have contributed their unique insight through interviews or guest blogs. On a personal note, I’m also an avid reader, music enthusiast and disgruntled Cubs fan. Hopefully this site is fun, engaging and educational.
